Trek 700 in PNW?

Hello,
I loved my old TREK 700 MultiTrack Hybrid, but alas it was stolen years ago. I would love to find another, men's, 19" red, would be perfect. I'm in Oregon, so somewhere on the West Coast would be great, too.

Just wishin...

Thanks.

p.s. feel free to email me: lilly1414atMSNdotcom, if you know of one available.

Hello heatherhav, there's probably someone here who can help, and I see you've found the Pacific Northwest regional forum, so good luck with your search.

Welcome to BF!

How do we measure the 19" size again? I have a green one but I'm not sure about the size.

from the center of the crank, measure up the seat tube to the top of the seat tube (c-t measurement), or to the center line of the top tube (c-c measurement).

your 19" Trek 720

Hello,

Do you have a picture of your Trek 720? I think it was identical to the 700, but slightly better parts were used. I'm interested, could you tell me more?

Incidentally, I have a womens, 19" Raleigh C-40 cross-sport, burgandy, in excellent condition, that will be looking for a home if I find a Trek.

Thanks again,

Heather

red Trek 700 on ebay

Bummer... This look just like my old bike. Unfortunately it was in Chicago and for local pick up only. The seller also would not disclose the bike's size, weird. Anyway, it's gone now.

Thank you again!

Here it is. It looks like there was moisture in that corner of the shop. It didn't look like that when I put it there about eight months ago. I don't think its worth shipping anymore.

Edited to remove pictures for dial-uppers.

Wow, too bad about the moisture damage. If it were only local, I'd probably still be interested. If you plan on swinging through Portland, or even Oregon anytime, let me know!

Thank you again for your reply and all of the pictures!

So Heather, should I also be keeping my eyes open for a 720 in addition to a 700?

Trek 700, new plan

Well, I rode 2 old Mens 19" Trek 720's this weekend. The fit was perfect, just like I remember. Unfortunately, they are just plain old now. I have a quite new, very good condition 19" Women's Raleigh C40, who's fit I just don't like, but I DO like the grip shifts, seat, tires, etc., that are all nice and new.

So, my husband & I concocted a crazy new plan: I am going to look for a frame exactly the same dimentions as the 19" men's Trek 700/720, and put all of my newer Raleigh parts & fork on it, and paint the new frame & Raleigh forks a nice bright red. Crazy, eh?!

So my new quest is for a frame.

Thank you for all of your help! Any more suggestions?

Heather
