Hello, new cyclist here.

Hello im new here. I have ridden before and am just now getting serious into cycling. I just purchased a 2007 schwinn super sport bicycle, kind of on an impulse to get out there and because it was a great deal.

How good is this bike? I havent picked it up yet and still have a second chance to think about it haha.

I wanted to get the 'le tour' or a fast back, but felt I needed some training before i hopped on those and were sadly out of my current price range. My bicycling mainly consists of commuting to work and leisure rides around town.

It's a decent bike. Not great, but decent. I think it would depend on how much you paid for it!

Are you any good at fixing or repairing your own bikes? This is what $150 could get you if you are:

No lusting! Just admire...

Welcome to BF!

Ah, you could be looking for a touring bike, then. Exactly what would you consider a 'long distance'? We're going to get you narrowed down and on a good bike, by golly .

I just picked up the bike. It rides great I dunno what you guys are talking about haha. Maybe down the road ill upgrade to a true road bike but for now this can do the job. Its comfortable with the suspension seat and the sitting is not cramped.

That's exactly right. The bike that you enjoy riding is the right bike for you. Everyone here has their own personal favorites, but when it comes to you specifically, our opinions aren't worth much.

Welcome to cycling! If you haven't done so recently, I'd suggest you take a look at a page about safe cycling (link goes to my favorite). It turns out that almost everything we learned to do as children is wrong, but plenty of work has gone into correcting that.
