Greetings from Columbia, SC
I was a bit surprised to see that I was the subject of a discussion a while back. My name is Tannie Dandridge, I live in Columbia, SC, and I was run over by an SUV while riding my bike. There was a news story about it on local TV, which is where I'm assuming the info about me came from. Since then I've gone to court and was found not guilty on the charge of failure to yield right of way. I'm still involved in a civil suit which, with no witnesses, is a case of my word against his. One thing I saw on the thread bugged me and I must make a correction: I did not hit the truck, he hit me. The police report says that I hit the truck, because the police report is a verbatim copy of the drivers story. I entered the crosswalk, the driver was stopped in the LEFT turn lane at a T intersection. He pulled out to make an illegal RIGHT turn as I got in front of his vehicle. I was struck on my left side and then drug under the truck. I was dragged for 30-40 feet and sustained injuries that still cause me an incredible amount of pain. If anyone is interested in a new discussion about this I'd be happy to participate.
Thanks for reading,
T

Hi Tannie. I'm sorry to hear you're still in pain. You might wish to read the Advocacy and Safety forum for a bit before you decide to post your story. Sad to say, tempers get a bit high there, and you may or may not be willing to cope with that.

Hello Tannie, are you still able to ride? How are you doing mentally? And if you are riding, what kind of bike have you got?
