New and need advice!
Hi!
I have been wanting to get a bike for while now, but I am having trouble figuring out a good bike to start with. I have never really biked regularly prior to this so I am a truly new to this. I imagine myself doing a lot more road biking but I would like the option of taking it to an easy trail every once in a while. I have heard of the Trek Hybrid bicycles and think I might like that best as a beginner, but I wanted to get everyone's opinion and possibly other options. I did have a Trek bicycle a few years ago and it may have been a Hybrid, but I'm not sure - it was stolen - I loved it, but I guess the chain I used to lock it wasn't thick enough or something. Anyways, I don't even really know the difference between most bikes or what I should really look for. I am not looking to spend too much on my first bike but I am willing to go in the $300-$400 range.
Any help would be great!
Thanks,
Anna

Welcome Anna,
Since your new to this you might want to do some searching on the road forum to start. Also, you might want to check into a cross-bike. Its a great bike to use for both the road and dirt.
welcome again

Fashionable Ferndale eh?
You might want to stop in at Cycleworks in Clawson and talk to Eric, he's a great guy and won't steer you wrong when it comes to picking a good bike, assuming you haven't picked on up already.
I live in Clinton Township, nice to see another metro Detroiter in here, welcome!
