Allow me to introduce myself....

My name is Steven K. Smith, from Newark OH. (Near Columbus) I'm a long time biker, since about 1973 or so, but have had to change to a recumbent due to knee and back trouble. (I have a road bike and a tandem for sale, BTW...)

Other than that, I'm a musician, poet and photographer. Oh yeah, I also work as an engineer.

See you on the road...

Steven K. Smith

Welcome, always good to see a musician! I'm an ameteur musician/songwriter with aspirations of one day getting paid for it, what kind of music do you do?

I play the mountain dulcimer, and I mostly perform celtic/folk/classical with a dash of the blues. I've been a performer at the Ohio Renaissance Festival since 1992, though I don't yet have a contract for this year.

I've made a few instruments, but no longer play any of the ones I built, which should tell you something. I've decided my skill lies more in playing than in building. The instrument I'm holding in the picture was built by Jerry Rockwell, of Guysville OH, (near Athens). I also own (and play) instruments by Ron Ewing (Columbus OH) and a McSpadden (Mtn View Arkansas).

Mostly I play in the folk/celtic genre, but I do have a version of Wild Thing, and Stairway to Heaven that I whip out occasionally as appropriate.

Hello Steven, I see you found the C & V forum--it's too bad you have to cease using those bikes because of your knees, but at least there's such a thing as a recumbent to make your cycling life much better...

Welcome to BF!
