Hi everyone!

Hi my name is JT. I'm in the almost-unheard-of state called Vermont!
I'm 17, and cycling is my favorite sport, alongside karate and paintball.
I'm somewhat new to cycling, and I'm happy to be here!

Hello JT, you aren't the only member from Vermont--at least one other Vermonter joined up just this week . Check out the Northeast regional forum--you will find more than you think.

What kind of bike are you riding?

Welcome to BF!

Well, I'm currently riding a cheap Mongoose 21-speed bike (from wal-mart *vomits*) so it's not that good, but I am VERY intrested in getting a real bike....alas, I have no money and must put up with it for the time being.

By the way, any Vermont cyclists know of any good bike shops in Rutland county, my older brother used to work at a shop, but I can't reach him and he might not remember.

A definite upgrade is in order! Do you know how to wrench, or are you willing to learn?

Yeah I know, maybe my older brother can help.

Nope, I don't know how to wrench, but I am willing to learn.

If you are willing to learn, then there's the possibility of picking up something off Craigslist, Salvation Army/Goodwill/local thrift shop, or garage sales.

Just sayin'...

I should point out the Classic & Vintage forum then...it's a great place to learn about older bikes, and the folks over there will be happy to let you know if you're looking at a good buy or not. There are some really nice people over there!
