Chicago commuter hooked
Hi all, I'm new to this forum but have been commuting to work since last July. My ride is about 8 miles one way. I haven't driven to work in over 3 weeks. Learning to ride even when it rains. I think I'm hooked because whenever I take the car I get depressed. I enjoy hanging out in the commuter forum section. Helps me not to feel alone in doing this. There is one other guy at my work that rides in from time to time. Is there anyone out there that commutes in the Chicago metro area!!

Hello dnards, I imagine that there must be at least one or two other people bike commuting in the Chicago metro area .
That's an almost perfect distance for a commute--it's just about the same as mine (although mine has hills). What kind of bike have you got?
Don't forget to look at the Winter Cycling forum--there's some great tips there, and you might find some fellow Chicagoites as well.

Hey dnards. I commute by bike from Andersonville to Hyde park two or three times / wk (30 miles roundtrip). In the warm season, that is. Let us praise this fine, bike-friendly town of ours.
