A Long Time Ago....

Hello to all,

Mike from Southern Illinois here. Used to be a die hard roadie back in the early 80's. Raced the junior circut back home around New England. Gave up the bike for a rucksack when I joined the Army (Operation Desert Storm vet)and never had the chance to get back in the saddle due to work and family issues. Been married to my best friend and toughest critic and fairest coach and I'm loving it. We both started riding again and I've got the bug again. Currently have a '07 Gary Fisher Wahoo and am blown away at the bike. Disk brakes on a bicycle still blows my mind. I'm getting the bug to race the mtb arena now and am looking at some short (6 12 hour) endurance type races to get into. Please don't get upset with the rookie questions and look forward to chatting it up with everyone.

Support the troops and drive on!!!!!!

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

Welcome home to Cycling!

Since you were an avid roadie, be sure to check out Road forum and since you are currently mountain biking, we also have the Mountain Bike forum and for just plain fun, there's FOO!

Hello Mike, we're glad to have you back from Iraq in one piece, and itching to get back out there and mix it up with the bikes! And with a great coach, no less .

Welcome to BF!
