Hello taos biker, that's a generous offer, and one day I may very well show up on your doorstep .

Do you do mostly MTB, or road? Or both? BMX?

    What kind of bikes?

    Welcome to BF!

    Hello and welcome Taos biker.

Careful what you wish for, I may take you up on that some time. I've only been to Taos once, but I'll be back some day. I love New Mexico. Such a cool place.

Isn't Taos in the Sandia's? Purty place.

Taos is in the Rockies, a branch called the Sangre de Cristos. The mountains tend to turn red during sunsets and that is how they got the name. I ride MTB mostly. An older Raleigh M60 hard tail that I have done a lot of work to and still really like. I tend to ride fairly aggresivley and enjoy singletrack the most. I get out on the road bike (Specialized Transition Comp) now and then as well, but mostly just for transportation and the odd triathlon, but I am getting a little old for those.(10 miles into town) straight down hill, but then of course there is the climb back home. I like to work on the bikes as well, I have two little kids that ride on the local race team so I get a lot of chances to play mechanic, thanks to a great LBS that readily hands out advice and an odd tool. Thanks for responding.

    Making me homesick for Raton.
"Let us hope our weapons are never needed --but do not forget what the common people knew when they demanded the Bill of Rights: An armed citizenry is the first defense, the best defense, and the final defense against tyranny. If guns are outlawed, only the government will have guns. Only the police, the secret police, the military, the hired servants of our rulers. Only the government -- and a few outlaws. I intend to be among the outlaws" - Edward Abbey

OH is nice too. I was just in upstate NY and got some riding in. I liked the dampness, so different from here. I found the riding very challenging with all the tree roots exposed and everything so slick all the time. How does a guy from NM end up in Wussyville, OH The soccer team will love hearing that name. I would have a hard time leaving the mountains and the lack of sun back there for too long.

The dampness is the one thing I will miss when I move to either there or AZ. Drove my sinuses nuts, especially when I first got there.

But like you said, the mountains and the sun are soooo nice. That and the factor of jobs, thats why I'm headed that way fairly soon.
