Howdy

Hows it going? I'm recently new to the bicycle community (I bought myself an Electra Deluxe Cruiser and ride that around to work and school) and want to educate myself as I become more familiar with bikes and the culture that goes along with it. I've been recently wanting to get a road bike since my commute is changing and I would really like to ride a bike everywhere I go (I hate driving!). Hopefully I can find something around here in Tucson that I can work with until I make my first big purchase once I'm a bit more comfortable. Thanks for all the information on here, it's a really great tool!

Hi Costello.

Tuscon. Hmmm. I think I'd want a car with some AC there.

Seriously though, there is no shortage of friendly advice here, so I'd suggest you buy a used bike, and take advantage of bike forums and get help every step of the way. A 2,500 dollar road bike from 10 years ago can be had for 500 bucks or so depending on how good of a deal you find, and still ride like the wind. No reason not to go used.

Hello Costello, I'm glad to hear that you have found this board to be useful. It's not just useful, though, you can make friends here too! Check into the regional forums, and good luck with your search.

Welcome to BF!
