Hello from Oregon

Did plenty of research on this site while looking for a bike, and now that I'm actively riding, thought I would join up. Introductions seemed the place to start.

I'm 15, and just bought my first "real" (i.e. my choice for a bike to fit me for years) bike, which happens to be a 1984 Peugeot P8. I use it for transportation about town as well as going out for recreational rides which, while not currently impressive, are growing in length.

Thats me, thanks for being here.

Hello wizzoh, please come visit us in the Classic & Vintage forum with photos of your Peugeot--we love Pugs over there. That's cool that you are 15 and already getting started with the vintage bikes (but, you are not the only one, we have at least three or four C & V regulars who are under the age of 18 ).

Oh, and check in with us over at the Pacific Northwest regional forum. There are quite a few Oregonians here, and some great folks who do a lot of riding, too.

Welcome to BF!

Hey from another Oregon teenager.

Whereabouts in the state do you live? I'm from Portland, but will be moving to Missoula MT this fall for school.

I'm no vintage bike fiend, but a quick Google of "Peugot P8" reveals a very pretty burgundy road bike. Does yours look like that?

Happy foruming!

I'm a little south of Portland, in Wilsonville, and I'll get some photos up when I get the chance.

My bike is pearloid white with blue decals, but I've seen the burgendy models.

Thanks for the warm welcome

I've seen that white model. When I was 13, my dad got me the burgundy P8. It fit me perfectly. Then I grew 4 inches in one year. You've got a nice bike, and I think if you're doing longer distances in the Wilsonville area, it's a good choice.

I'm in SE Portland, myself.
