Well Hello 'der, from NYC
I've lived car-free my whole life, and recently moved to New York City. I love the transit system here and will be getting a new bike soon - probably a folder. I closely follow the subject of Peak Oil and the perspectives of folks like Richard Heinberg, and James Howard Kunstler. I'm also fascinated by the subject of Earth Impacts - ala the Chicxulub Crater, as the probable cause of dinosaur extinction. Hopefully the human species can wake up from it's incredible short-sightedness soon enough to avoid the same fate. And when I'm not being a stuffed-shirt office worker, I like to compose songs, stories, and non-fiction.

Hello axel, it sounds as if you will find an amenable haven in the Living Car Free forum. Remember, the joy of riding a bike transforms you from being a stuffed-shirt office worker into a real human being .

Hello East Hill. Yeah, Living Car Free, Commuting, Regional Discussions and the Politics & Religion forums are of interest. I once began to start a blog, and I have shared my ideas on other forums, but now I'm more focused on getting to the point of publishing. But we're talking 3-5 years down the line. In the immediate short run, I aim to find answers here to a lot bike specific questions I have, which I shall seek in the various forums.

Hello cerewa. I see you are a fan of the Quakers. Utilitarian folks they are.
You must not be too far from the Amish. They've got nothing against the wheel - it's what fuels it that's the problem.
