Hi all
Hi there, Tony here.
I commute about 7 miles roundtrip each day past one BART train station to the next further one to get a little more exercise. BART= Bay Area Rapid Transit.
My ride is 80-90% on a bike trail and I have been doing it around 4-5 years. I have an enclosed bike locker I rent at the station.
I bought my Giant Cypress at a local bike shop which offers lifetime tuneups. It's my third recent bike. The first was someone's curbside reject Huffy, the second was another Cypress which got totaled when someone ran into me at night while they were leaving a driveway. (No injury to me at all)
I ride in all weather. I have a Carradice cape and spats, Rivendell wool undershirts, fenders, a bright headlight, and away I go. I wear a Bell commuter helmet and safety glasses to guard against bugs or rain - that very popular bikegeek look. My panniers are an inexpensive Schwinn model. Slick tires are full of slime.
My peddles spend most of their time under the arch of my soles. What'd I say? Geek-city!
I look fowrard to spending some time here. Nice to meet you,
Tony

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.
