    New VT Hello

    Hi All,

Have been wandering around here for quite awhile, figured it was time to join everyone.

Am a long-time avid cyclist and part-time bike shop employee. Road riding is my main interest but I throw in a little light mountain biking with my two step-daughters too. The older of the two recently started road riding. She's adapted well but comes up with too many pre-teen excuses for not riding. Anybody out there have similar issues? If you do and are in Northern VT (Burlington, St Albans, Stowe), let me know, we'll drag the kids out for a ride!

    Stay well,
    Joe

Hello Joe, what kind of bike have you got for the road riding? Do you handle much in the way of vintage machines? We are always looking for a good LBS with employees who appreciate our fondness for classic & vintage bikes...

    Welcome to BF!

    Good morning East Hill.

Right now I'm riding an '02 Jamis Eclipse with an I.F. steel fork. A long time ago (~24 years ago) I had a Nuovo Record equipped Bruce Gordon Chinook. It was nice until I got run over by a car. If I could afford either the money or time, I'd be riding a Tommasini Tecno, a Richard Sachs, or another Bruce Gordon. Yeah, I have a soft spot for the vintage type stuff.

Every now and then we see an old Masi, Marinoni, Basso, Serotta, etc. come into the shop for a repair or fitting modification. The closest thing to "vintage" that we sell are Sevens.

    Thanks for the welcome.

Well, don't be shy, we'd love to hear stories about vintage stuff in C & V if you've got any to share. By the way, there is a forum specifically for those in the trade. I think if you are interested, to PM moderator Rev.Chuck.
