I'm really new to all of this
Hello,
My name is Joe and I just recently starting commuting to the lab that I work at. I'm overweight and parking is also near impossible near my lab (I work at Indiana University and parking near any university is impossible), so I decided to ride a bike to work every day. I made the mistake of getting the cheapest bike I could find from Dick's and now I'm paying for it. Hopefully I'll be able to afford something nice soon on my salary. Thanks for reading. :) |
Hello Joe, trot over to the Clydesdales forum, for sure. It's a great group of folks offering each other support and consolation (when needed), and moderated by a great example, Tom Stormcrowe.
Edit: Dang! You beat me to it, you bum :D ! If you work at IU, you could check into whether or not there's any students who are looking to get rid of a bike at the end of their educational experience, or you can try the local thrifts, Craigslist, etc. What do you do at the lab? Welcome to BF! East Hill |
I've been looking at Craigslist for the longest time now. I'll have to check out other resources as well. I should also stop into the LBS too I guess and see if they have anything reasonably priced.

Does IU Salvage serve as a bike outlet for abandoned bikes? Purdue Salvage does.....

It turns out IU does have a similar program and the next sale is in September. So I might have a "new" bike for fall. :)

Well, I need a replacement for the bike I currently have because I'm afraid this thing is going to fall apart. So you might be getting a picture very soon. :)
