heyy

Just another intro thread here. Lemme ask a biased group a question: is this a good forum?

Anyways, I am looking to get into distance cycling, and thought I would train for and do a century as a good starting point. I play soccer competitively (I'm 15) and it would be good training, which is what lured me into this interesting sport.
What would be a good starting point? A Century sound good?

The other day I tried my legs to see how far they would take me, and I went 36km with energy to spare, although with quite a sore arse. I'm on a Trek 3500 MTB currently (lol) and will put some slicks on it to hold me over until I scrape together some change for a new bike.

I have more questions, but will post them in the appropriate sections, and like a good forum citizen I promise to use the search!

A century is a good starting point for someone who wants to do long distance cycling.

You could try other forums, but almost everyone who hasn't been banned returns here. Must be a reason, eh? You be the judge .

A MTB will go a long way to building you up. When you finally upgrade, you will think you are flying along the road.

Welcome to BF!
