Hi! - need sprint advice!
Hi everyone! my name is Mark Z. I'm from the UK. I'm 44 and Iv taken up track sprinting after 12 years off bike! I'm interested in any advice for sprint training. I want to be competetive in masters. So far iv clocked 12.2 on 48x14 outdoor track. Does gear choice matter that much or will I go as fast for 200 TT whatever I use? (within reason)

Welcome Mark. go to the track cycling section and ask your question there, you should get plenty of responses.

OF course gearing makes a difference - lower gtears will improve your acceleration at the start, but limit your max speed. You will have to find what provides the best balance for you for the distances you ride. However it is the condition of your legs that makes the most difference. My daughter lives at the N side of Bromley and I will be visiting in Sept. You must have been watching the first stage of the tour - I loved the views of the countryside from the helicopter following the stage.

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

Hmmm, a bit of generic advice for a track bike....
NEVER stop pedaling! If you do, you will be launched up and left or up and right, right over the handlebars!
