new guy in Chicago

Hey,

new guy, new bike, Chicago.
propelled by wanting to get a workout, and my girlfriend (an avid cyclist herself) i bought a Giant OCR3 a couple months back and am loving it.
i know shes on these forums too, so i registered awhile back, but only got around to posting this today.

i'm here to learn more about biking, the community and what-have-you.

Hope you have been enjoying the Giant so much that that is what has been keeping you from posting before .

Don't forget to stop by the regional forums and say hello (although you obviously know at least one local ).

Welcome to BF!

Hi, Paradox. Not that I've ever had any luck with it, but I hear it's very nice when you can ride with your special someone. Welcome and have fun.

Do I know you you from somewhere? *curious face* I hope you use this forum to your advantage for if you have a question someone will most likely have an answer for you. I hope you enjoy BF and riding with your special someone. Once again, welcome.

Welcome to da windy city. You need to start eating hot dogs, rooting for the cubs (please) and saying "sez" a lot. Like "He 'sez' we need to go to the park".

I think that's coming soon to a regional forum (not) near you !

Back to cycling...Paradox, you are very fortunate if ms. gio is your chief slacking officer and helpful friendly local .

I've been lurking in bikeforums long enough that I should finally add my own newbie introduction. I've been in Chicago for 5 years, and after a couple of years using my bike to just get around the neighborhood, am starting to try to get into cycling more seriously. With the weather like it's been recently, how can I not be spending as many hours out on the bike as I can?

For the record, I occasionally say "sez," but always root for the Sox!

well not new to chicago, new to bike forums, perhaps "from" would've been a better word to use in the titel and i do all those things already, along with eating the best pizza in the world
