Washed up Picchio in San Diego...
I feel stupid doing this...I'm a 62-year-old retired (starving) middle-school teacher who is addicted to the Tour de France coverage on TV. I used to ride road bikes when I was young and stupid. Now that I'm old and stupid, I'd like to try it again. When I found the forum this evening I saw a posting by someone with a Picchio signature. I have a Picchio Special (early 80's) covered with tumbleweeds of dog hair propped up in my den. Maybe someone out there in cyberspace is peddling around the forum in one. Without the dog hair, I hope. I'm looking forward to hearing from any and all who are interested in vintage bikes. Thanks for letting me sneak in.

You have at least one member in common--who uses the name 'Picchio Special'. Does this perhaps tell you what he owns ?
We'd love to see photos, and hear from you, in the Classic & Vintage forum, so come on down! We don't have much information on Picchio, so any knowledge you can impart would be helpful.
By the way, I have 12 or so vintage bikes... .
Welcome to BF!

Thanks for the welcome - I'll bop down to the vintage posts and see what happens. I don't know a lot about the Picchio bikes but there may be some interesting connection between Angelo Picchio and the Maserati factory racing team from the late 50's/early 60's - at least that was the story when I bought the frame . Maybe the guy who sold it to me was full of el garbagos.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
