newbie in Modesto CA

Hey Everyone..

My name is Chris and I just found this site by mistake.. the good kind

I have/ride a 1997/1998 ish Klein Pauluk Comp..
I had it customized to give it a fresh look with a subtle
twist that only the people that know the different older
models of Klein and know that this one doesn't excist..

I'm hoping to be able to upgrade the dated hardware on it
because I can't find ish for a 24 speed that isnt NOS or cheap quality..
I hope to find some good info to point me in the right direction..

I bought my current bicycle used about 2 years ago and before riding it, I stripped it in all its stock 1997/1998 glory and sent the frame off..
I had a place that specilized in custom powdercoating redo my frame for a new beginning..
I had the orignal "Pulse" part of the wording changed to my last name "Pauluk"
This bicycle was built to replace my orignal Pulse Comp that was the exact same year, size and color that I built up over the years.. It was stolen back in 2001 by some crack head guy named Stewart Carr in Stockton California that I sorta knew..
Police don't take a bicycle theift serious reguardless of its value being over $500 bucks (felony status)
nothing ever came with it even with the witness that saw him plain as day ride off with it..

I even bought NOS XT shifter/brake levers just like I once had..
I know there are tons of other choices out there, for me it was a personal thing that I had to do to get my mojo kicked back in to get the buzz back..

I bought a Trek 4900 to try and replace it, but it just wasn't right,
so alot of the parts on the Trek were swapped over to this bike frame..

heres my current ride be nice

Heres my old orignal one..

Heres the Trek 4900 I tried to replace it with.. (frame for sale soon 17.5) less than 5 miles on it

I'm also into the Chrysler turbo cars of the 80's/early 90's as well as Toyota Tacoma trucks..
My favorite bike shop is Livermore Cycelery in Dublin..
many a pay check have helped to expand their facility

thanks for reading..

Hello Chris--loved your photo in the Mountain Biking forum . Were you really bunnyhopping over a dead bicycle, there?

It's cool that you had your name written onto the bike--after your previous experience, it would be hard for a thief to explain why he would be riding on a personalised bike without having a sales receipt to hand, eh?

I have a brother who lives in Modesto, about a half mile away from Vintage Faire Mall. Doesn't ride a bike, though .

Welcome to BF!
