Newbie from Dallas

Howdy. Glad I found this - now when I'm not on the bike I can at least be talking about it. I ride a 2006 Litespeed Tuscany with full Campy Record, FSA handlebars, Easton carbon seat, Mavic Kyserium SL, Zues carbon fork. Replaced the ugly (IMO) red decals with a simple black with yellow outline Litespeed decal and like the look much better. Also have a 2003 Orbea Team Euskatel aluminum racing bike (also with Record), a 1996 Trek 1200, a Marin Palisades Trail mtn bike (circa 1993 - no suspension anywhere) and a 2006 Gary Fisher Tass. Do most of the mileage around White Rock Lake in Dallas with the sporadic t-shirt ride thrown in for a change of pace. Did the Hotter n' Hell 115 last year (the extra 15 miles came in when some idiots changed the signs at the 80 mile mark and a big group of us went out of the way. Wouldn't have been so bad except it was 105 outside at the time and 112 with the heat index and there were no water stops along the way. But we lived) and am hoping to repeat this year.

that's about it - look forward to conversing with you.

kfordp - welcome to BikeForums! Sounds like a nice collection of bikes you've got there. I head down to White Rock Lake peroidcally, not as much lately though since starting to work full time. It used to be my week day morning ride when it was quieter than the weekends.

I heard about that 115mi route that some folks got stuck on. Glad to hear no one was seriously hurt during that incident. I did the 100k last year.

I usually ride with the RBM Saturday Morning groups or with PBA in Richardson & Plano. Lots of other Dallas area riders around as well. Be sure to stop by the Texas Regional forum and say hello!

Hello kfordp, it sounds as if you were in the middle of a disaster waiting to happen with the 115 mile HHH! You are fortunate that you did not get hurt.

Welcome to BF!

Howdy, and welcome. Sounds like all you need is a BMX bike and a fixed gear and you could hang out in every sub forum here!

Thanks!

Appreciate the responses from everyone! Looks like I need to add some pics of the stable - it's good to see everyone else is putting up with the grief I get from my wife...! I'm sure I'll figure it out eventually, but how did you add the pics?
