exchef intro
Hiya,
my name's Bill and I'm a freak. I'm old enough to lie about my age (or maybe not), i.e. I turned officially middle aged this past spring. I've been riding for fun and transport since the Ford administration. I grew up on a hill in Oregon, but I've lived most of the last 19 yrs. in flat Chicago.
After better than a decade worth of beaters I got a decent mountain bike a few yrs. back. Tricked out w/slicks and bar extensions it's not a bad city bike, but my wife needed a ride and isn't so into speed and quickness as I, so last spring I rehabbed an abandonded basement bike, which is actually quite nice. (Raleigh Marathon) Then, midlife crisis impending, I converted it to a fix, added moustache bars, and now it's Rosinante the recycled raleigh, or My Midlife Masher.
Anyway, that's me.
