Newbie from Burleson, Tx

My brother in law has got me into riding. Its actually more fun than I thought it would be. Ive rode 2 times in the last 6 days. The first time was 9.3 miles, the second was 11 miles at the Peach Pedal in Weatherford and boy was it hilly (for me anyway). He rode the 100k and it was pretty cool feeling knowing I had just about killed myself riding 11 miles and he just finished the 100k. Riding and finishing that 11 miles gave me a big feeling of accomplishment. My brother in laws friend has loaned me his bike its a Trek ZR9000/2200..........pretty nice and fast bike. Im hoping to stick with this and try to increase my distance and ride more weekly. I am definately out of shape and carry too much weight at the moment, hopefully that will change.

Welcome. Nice bike you have borrowed. Give it time and mileage will build. Before you know it, you will be doing those metric centuries as well.

Hello crash and burn, with time, that 11 miles will seem like just a warm up for you . If you need some more motivation to keep up the good work, visit the Clydesdales/Athenas forum. Those folks specialize in encouragement.

Welcome to BF!

thanks for the encouragement guys. I know it was only 11 miles but I had a nice feeling of accomplishment when I crossed that finish line. Very cool feeling. My next goal is to do 25 miles. Thanks again!
