Hello from Grand Rapids, Michigan

Hi, my name is Kevin and I'm from Grand Rapids, MI. I've been mostly riding rail trails around my house but I'm starting to convert an old Trek Antelope into a commuter bike so that I can ride it to work and on supported tours.

Hello Kevin, how old is your Antelope? Those were some fine machines . How long is your commute?

Welcome to BF!

I'm 99% sure it is a 1993 model. I tried to lookup the serial number on VintageTrek.com but I couldn't find a match with any year. My commute is around 7 miles each way, so it is a relatively short one. I've been riding my 03 Specialized Epic but the suspension and seat position are starting to annoy me when I'm on the road. I figured that if I spend a few hundred dollars on my Trek, I should be able to make it into are pretty nice commuter/tour bike.

Oh, give us some photos! Before and after is good . The Antelope is supposed to make a better commuter than it was a MTB, or so I have read.

Hello, also from Grand Rapids here. I commute with my Electra Amsterdam, I live and work Downtown, so it's not too far of a commute, but I could easily commute to Rockford on that bike!
