Hi, my name is Jason. I am new to biking as I have not been on a bike since I was probably 15. Lately, I have been more for the motorized two-wheelers with my Harley. As you all know, not going to get much exercise with a motor under you. I live in the hills so mountain biking is definately the only way to go but I am having trouble deciding what to get. I really don't want to spend a whole lot of money until I determine that I will stick with it. I don't have a horrible history of that but it could happen. Would it be worth my time to invest in a department store piece of junk until I see if I enjoy it? I have researched the hardtail v. suspension issue and I think I want a suspension under my butt to save my body from any future torture. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Jason, your best bet is to wander over to the MTB forum, and look over the stickies over there. I have an old school hardtail, but I'm a masochist .

Welcome to BF!
