Hello from SF Bay Area

Hey everyone, I joined the forum a month ago. I started posting today.

I'm a college student, interested in an alternative forms of transporation. I biked for fun back when I was in high school for fun. I stopped for a year after my parents brought me a brand new car.

I later found out that living with a car is not as fun as everyone perceived it was. I find it highly stressful to be stuck in traffic, and dealing with rude drivers. It really takes it toll on your blood pressure. Not to mention spending 40% of my income from my minimium wage job on car expenses. I've finally looked at a way to ditch the car and get on the bike.

From a start I'm looking at commuting to work instead of driving. It's alot funner anyways, I enjoy biking, but I dislike driving. I don't have anything against cars, they do serve their purposes, I just perfer to bike. I just need to get into shape, and go from there. I'm too out of shape right now.

Hello Starcraft, I see you've already been busy around the board . Yes, cars have a purpose, but they certainly aren't necessary for everyone, and they are pretty expensive when you start to add up the true costs. Where are you in the Bay Area? A lot of BF members in that part of the world, check out the regional forums to see who they all are.

What kind of bike have you got?

Welcome to BF!
