Newbie from Vancouver
Hey everybody,
I'm somebody who has been inspired to get into cycling by my recent trip, as rider support, to the Seattle to Portland ride.
I don't have a bike yet, but plan to use this forum as a resource before buying one.
My goal is to do the ride, in one day, next year...yikes.
The group I was supporting had trained to do it in two days, but ended up completing it in one...it was amazing!
We went down from Vancouver as quite a large group, who split into sub groups to do the ride.
Five of the riders are in serious training for a charity ride across Canada in nine days. Needless to say, they completed STP among the top finishers... (If you want to know more about their charity ride, see my post in the "Charity rides" forum entitled Team H2V::Coast to Coast)
All in all, it was one of the most inspirational weekends of my life
Anyway, I'll be lurking and posting during the next few months to learn all I can before taking the plunge and buying a bike in the New Year
Glad to be on board,
Kim
