Hi, I am Greg, and I am an alcoholic... with a endurance problem

I run ultra marathons but getting into road biking. I hope my running background helps the cycling!!

So I'll be hanging with the newbies for a bit - hope to see you on the road!

Welcome to BF! Well, your aerobic capacity will be a big help, but running uses different muscles. I'm pretty sure you'll like the cycling though! We have some subforums you might be interested in, since you marathon, you're likely to be a natural for being attracted to distance riding. The Long Distance subforum, as well as Training and Nutrition.

Feel free to drop by CLydesdales as well as I'm pretty sure you can have good feedback there for our larger riders as to aerobic health, etc.

As stated, it will help as your aerobic system is conditioned. However, you will be using a different set of muscles for sure. You'll have to condition them also.

    Welcome to BikeForums!
