    Greetings from Middleton, WI

    Hi all!
I'm new to this forum but not new to biking. I raced road and mountain bikes back in the 80's. I messed up my back in 1991 and have had 8 back surgeries and now have an implanted morphine pump to control the pain (which it does wonderfully). That's where the "Bionic" name comes from. The pump is made of titanium, so I have TI in me but not under me in a bike.
I've proven the Dr's wrong and have gotten back into fast recreational riding pretty heavily. My husband is my riding partner, which is awesome. We met cycling, so it's nice to be able to get back to an activity which we both love.
I ride a Cannondale Silk Road 1000 from the late 90's. I put a shock seat post on it, so I have a dual suspension road bike! Not as light as the new stuff, but it's comfy, and that's what keeps me riding.
I look forward to being a part of this forum.
    Cheers,
    Pam

Hello Pam, you are obviously one tough person! It's great to have a cycling spouse--I've got one too .

You have a great sense of humour, I will look forward to hearing more from you.

    Welcome to BF!

    Hey Pam - great story!

You are absolutely one of us, and perhaps much better than I! I love to hear stories of individuals that have risen above and proven the doctors wrong. The will is sometimes stronger than anything, eh? Ride on Pam, and welcome to BikeForums! You are an inspiration for me.
