Yet another recovering fat guy

I got back into riding last year after visiting Europe and feeling like, well, a fat American.

The better part of two seasons later, and I'm down about four notches on the belt. I'm primarily a road rider, and enjoy daily riding in some of the best cycling country in the world - the un-glaciated areas west of Madison, WI.

There are days I struggle with just how hard I have to work to keep improving.

My riding partner is my wife, and she is a brutally fast ex-racer who enjoys kicking butts. Mine in particular.

Hey bass player, it sounds as if your spouse could possibly be a bionic woman? You guys have a great sense of humour. Make sure that you stop by the Clydesdales/Athenas forum--we are a fun lovin' bunch over there, and we will keep you motivated, even if you aren't currently a Clyde .

Of course, Pam could keep you motivated too, but if she doesn't keep kicking your butt, we will .

Welcome to BF!

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

You have to catch me sleeping! The one good thing about getting off at 4.30 am is that I get my riding in early enough to play the rest of the day .

You guessed right Bionic Pam is my wife. She trounced me again tonight. I feel like Inspector Clouseau (sp?) getting bounced by his Karate loving sidekick as soon as the pedalling starts...

I'm a borderline Clydsdale. I have lost 20+ lbs, but too many years of the evil "working business lunch" caught up with me, and I've got 15 - 20 to go to be back to where I used to be. It is a lot of work, but it is worth it.

Thanks for the welcome!
