Hello from the Pioneer Valley

Hi,

I am new to the forums and just want to say hello to all the good people here. I have learned quite a bit about bikes in general while searching the archives and hope to learn more as I am becoming more and more obsessed with this greatest of all human achievements: the bicyle! I live in an area of W. Mass. that has some nice riding close by and would be happy to join others in the area for some modest (distance and pace) rides. I am just getting back into riding after years of neglect so need to take it easy. Currently, I have more bikes than I know what to do with:

1996 Croll road
1994 Bridgestone RB-T
1991 (?) RB-T frameset (cyclo cross project)
1983 Univega Super Strada
2006 Kogswell P58

I will post some pictures once I learn how, computers scare me.

The perfect number of bikes is:
n + 1

where n = current number of bikes owned.

You only have five, you are a slacker! Just joking of course , you've got some nice bikes there.

In case I haven't already said hi to you over at Classic & Vintage,

Welcome to BF!

Hi Lanky,
You did say hello in my "Univega query" post, thank you. I need to build some wheels for that bike as I've decided I'm too nervous about riding on tubulars. I really look forward to riding it. The Croll is a real beauty which has seen too few miles; I injured my knee shortly after buying it back in '96 and have ridden very little since. The Kogswell and RB-T are currently up for sale as I am trying to pay some bills. The RB-T frameset will hopefully be powder coated this month and built up with an NOS XT group I've been collecting, that should cover my dirt/off road aspirations. Oh, almost forgot, I just put together an '86 Bridgestone 450! I think you have too many bikes when you have more bikes than brain cells to remember them!

Oops, I just realized I addressed you as Lanky, instead of East Hill. My apologies, I am a careless reader sometimes.

Don't worry--I am a Lanky Lass because I am from Lancashire, England, and I've been called that before .

I'm going to dream of being able to live in Amherst again for the rest of my life. That was 8 years of total bliss.

While I really enjoy living in Amherst (good cycling, good politics and a great pub just down the way), I can't help but notice that you live in Hawaii!
