From Runner to Biker I guess.
Hello from the upstate of SC. Just signed up after looking at the website several times. I've been a runner for 15 years but picked up a bum foot that the doc can't seem to fix so I dusted off a 15-20 year old Raleigh and am riding to keep from turning into a blimp because I can't run right now.

Hello johnbull, what Raleigh have you got? Are you doing road cycling or MTB?

I think that was possibly made right here in Kent, WA. The plant was opened in 1985 to make the Technium bonded aluminium frames.
Got photos?

welcome aboard! I'm a former runner myself - after several years of running I managed to develop arthritis in both knees. I've grown to love cycling though, and prefer it to running now.
Have a great time getting reacquainted with that Raleigh!

Small world. I Don't have any pictures of it. I've put some new tires on it, and it rides pretty well for what I'm doing. Riding 2 to 4 times a week (8 to about 20 miles/ride) depending on time. I guess if the running is out long term I'll break down and upgrade to a newer one in a few months.

If you do get photos, post them in the Classic & Vintage forum. How's the bonding holding up?
