Intro from New Hampshire

At 58 I'm heading out on a solo trip to...?? I've never done anything like this before but it's time for a little self discovery. I'll be heading west and that's all I know. Leaving Sept 4 and go as far as 30 days will let me. Have retrofitted my Lemond with special gearing and will tow a trailer. Anyone have any input as to do's and don'ts??
Thanks

Hello pilot2949, you definitely want to stop in and converse with the Touring forum folks.

Welcome to BF, and good luck with your journey. Take plenty of photos would be my number one 'do'.

Thanks for the response. Lots of information out there. Challenge is distilling it down to pertinent stuff. Comon thread seems to be the wind factor going east to west..

Yes, I think it would be much easier doing the ride in reverse. A bit like us in Washington going down the coast to California, the north to south route is MUCH easier than the reverse.

Wow - I love that idea. Just get on the bike and go! I wish I had some good advice to give, but other than BRING LOTS OF TOOLS, I'm pretty useless when it comes to that type of ride. You've certainly got my admiration!

Oh yeah - welcome to BikeForums!
