thanks to koffee brown for encouraging me to add a bit more to my intro....
I am indeed a bike mechanic at a shop in the houston area. been doing it for a while now and there's nothing esle I'd rather do....well, I'd like to ride my bike more but I got bills to pay and all, so off to the shop I go!
I am roadie, big time! Used to mouintain bike a ton but then I met my road bike and I haven't cheated on her since!
I ride a trek 1000, though you'd be hard pressed to guess that model if you saw her. I have upgraded a few things on my baby. I have done the thing most people dare not do: I have fitted my bike with a mix of two component groups: Campagnolo and Shimano. I love them both so much and could not decide on just one of them. I have Campy Veloce shifters/brake levers; Shimano 105 front derailleur; Dura-Ace rear derailleur. {shifts like a dream}. Dura Ace cranks with get this -->Campy chain ring bolts! I run a double in the front and eight in the rear, though I plan on trying to squeeze a niner in there this week. I've got mavic wheels with ultegra hubs and a set of hutchinson racing slicks to cover those bad boys. Also gonna slap an ultegra botom bracket on her. Looking to upgrade the stock chro-moly fork to a carbon fiber fork once I've got a few extra quid.
Anyhow, aside from bikes, I love movies (Woody Allen, Reservoir Dogs, the usual suspects, Amelie {can you believe it?} and a slew of others), music (liz phair, ministry, nine inch nails, queen, clapton, hendrix, and of course tons more), tv (the simspons, the sopranos, south park, the new justice league, reno 911, and many more), and video games (love max payne on xbox, syphon filter on psone, gta vice city, am currently playing dave mirra's bmx for psone).
so what else....dunno.....
like I said before, I can't wait to repond to some posts, as I am very opinionated about bikes and other junk.
take care, all. can't wait for our exhange of ideas and information.
p.s. see the world on your bike.
