    Hey all

Just to say hello. I'm Scott and am just getting back to riding after a few years off. I am a part time bike tech at a sporting goods store and a bike shop I have worked for off and on for years. I used to ride a lot of road, until I got hit by a car. Mountain, till I split 3 helmets in a month. Even BMX until my wife heard my head hit the ground during a race, from 20yds. away. The only complete bike I have now is an old 96 GT Timberline with a Manitou Mach 5 fork. Although I just aquired a 2000 Specialized FSR frame for a new project. Actually traded some Shimano DX pedals for it. Anyway HI.

Luckily I was only really hurt when I got hit. That wasen't by the car though. He clipped me while I was riding the edge of the road. I was bruised on the left side. Where I fell on the right was another story. Broken wrist and a rib. I still won't even think about riding on the road. But I'm starting back into MTB'S.

Hey Scott, I had a near death experience aswell and was fortunate enough to escape with a few broken bones and a bit of tissue / muscle damage, you have to keep at it, and then one day only the bikes will survive

Well, Ive tried other sports, running dosn't work. I ruined my knees in highschool. I shoot archery and firearms alot. No injuries there thus far. I have always been a better mechanic than rider.

Cycling is better than shooting firearms but going to the range sure works in relieving the stress that a physical workout can't . Welcome to the forums!!!

I've never been hit by a car while shooting my guns!

Shooting is a part of my life. Has been since I was a kid. My wife shoots with me, my older daughter shoots with me, she is 10. My younger daughter will shoot when she is big enough, if she wants to, she is 5 now.

There is absolutly nothing wrong with guns in the hands of responsible folks.

If I want stress relief I go into my basement and hit my heavy bag. Shooting is just plain old fun. Not really athletic, just you against your desired target.

Gun control= Being able to hit what you aim at.

OK, Scott, each to his own, we tend to live in a relatively gun free society in England (still being killed mostly by cars).

Newboy, I didn't notice your location. I guess you do live in a place where firearms are not the norm. Sorry if I got a little defensive. I just get a little wound up when I percieve someone to be telling me that all guns are bad. It kinda falls into the politics and religon thing. I'm right and everyone else is wrong

Nice to hear another peron enjoy firearms as much as I! I'm now the VP for our schools gun club. shooting is a LOT of fun, like cycling... only your right about the cars not hitting you while shooting
