Good Morning
Hi everyone.
I'm a librarian/grad student, I live in Brooklyn, NY and I'm attempting to commute two or three days a week to various locations in Manhattan (my library job has me moving around to different library branches). Today was my first commute and it went off without a hitch. My concerns right now are the usual ones: how to best carry my stuff (I have a bike rack), how to minimize sweating, how to clean up when I get to work, etc. I can see many others have the same concerns.
Have a terrific day!

Hello Alexa, Bike Forums has at least two other librarians as members . The questions you have are certainly asked by many a commuter, so enjoy the reading in the Commuting forum!

Welcome aboard!!
You might also want to check out the utility cycling forum as well! There are a lot of cool bikes on there with pics and you can see what their set up is.

You Know!? For Kids!
Oh, Oh, another librarian. The librarians hang out in foo and trade reference desk horror stories. Welcome to Bike Forums, now get over to Foo post haste.

Yeah!! More beautiful commuting NY librarians (Eboo is another).
Welcome to BikeForums. As East Hill pointed out, the Commuting sub-forum is the best place for those questions. In fact, all your questions are probably already answered in the sticky posts at top there.

Although your questions may already be answered in the stickies, you should ask them anyway. Repetition riles the regulars (good for their circulation) and gives newbies a chance to sound important. Personally, I never read the stickies. I like my opinions as fresh as perspiration from the morning commute.
Welcome!
PS In Foo we follow standard Eboo pronunciation rules and refer to libraries as "liberries" and librarians as "liberians."
