Hey chancho, no need to worry about not owning a bike (congratulations on finally acquiring one, though)--if you can't get good information here on what to look for in bikes, where can you go?

So, what kind of bike did you get, then?

Welcome to BF!

Im a proud owner of a Specialized Allez Elite,............I'm sooo hyped. My wife begings to tell me that she will be impressed when I ride to work ( I take public transportation now), anyway the guy at the store begins to tell me how doable that would be, then some joins in the conversation, now, I would not rest till I do just that, ride to work and save on my public transportation cards.......................

Oh, VERY nice bike! Yes, no reason why you can't ride to work--check out the Commuting forum if you haven't already done so. Chock full o' information there .
