Hi.

Hi, I am new to all this, biking, and foruming. Is that a word? And I have been reading a lot of your posts and I do not have any idea what you are talking about! I got a bike at a yard sale this summer and have been riding 3 months or so, after spinning a few months prior. At first, hated every bit of it but not anymore! I will read some more and hopefully learn from all you guys/gals. peace.

all i could tell you is what it says on the bike. Schwinn Sidewinder, guess it is a mountain bike, with rough tires and shocks on the front. Not much of bike, i think, but i did not think i would really ride it much. but heck, i am liking it! the chain falls off sometimes when i shift down to the smallest whatever you call it, and that caused me to tip over going up a hill. lol. thankfully, i ride in the country, so no one got to see that!. thanks for the reply.

You've got what is advertised as an 'all terrain bike', so essentially it is a mountain bike, yes! It's not the highest end model, but it will probably work well enough for a while. Just don't take it off any big jumps, ok? Chains usually fall off when the shifting mechanisms are not correctly adjusted. You could probably learn to take care of that yourself (head over to the Bicycle Mechanics forum to do some reviewing).

Falling over is fun--I am certain that most of us have done that at least once .
