Hey...

Been out of cycling for about two years - I did a 700km + solo tour two years ago which absolutely broke me, the bike was fine though, turned me off for a bit though... Earlier this year a friend with ulterior motives dragged me out to Mt Stromlo for a bash. He wanted to sell me his KHS Alite 1000 and I bought it, been riding regularly since and wanted to try out a full suspension - I found a good deal on a KHS XC 604 a few weeks back so I bought it - haven't managed to give it a bash at Stromlo yet due to poor weather but fingers crossed this weekend. I also own an old trusty BOSS USA bmx..

The 2009 world championship will be held at this course, its 30 minutes ride from my place so I've been taking advantage of the great singletracks... I guess in 6 months time I'll be ready to upgrade a few parts on my new KHS so I thought this would be a great place to get some advice on the right gear to upgrade to.

cheers Greg

Hello Greg, I think I would be taking advantage of the singletracks too if I were living there . Are you going to be participating in the world championship, or is that a little bit too much to expect? Perhaps just a spectator?

Welcome to BF!

No I'll just be a spectator I'd say... I'm planning on upping my riding though and I'm keen to do the 50km race at Mogo (just south of Bateman's Bay) on the south coast next year and I'm also keen to get on a team for a 24hr race next year. Not sure whether to enter the Scott or the Mont (both in Canberra) Stromlo and Majura respectively.
