Yo-yo is my name

Hi everyone,

I am currently studying in Chicago, Junior @ DePaul. Music is my major. However, I love any outdoor activities, and I wish I could be out there enjoying all 4 seasons. I've always thought "what a great invention bike is". Just knowing that I can travel to other places faster, convenient, and not polluting the environment, although making the products does require some damaging. I want to slowly gain my knowledge about bikes, and gradually become more independent of fixing problems and other stuff relating to bikes. This will help me throughout my life, as I am sure I will be riding bike till I am very old. I know I can't learn it all in a short time, but I want to use my time efficiently, and I find picture and video demonstrations very helpful and clear to grasp. I really like the attitude of most bike people; they seem to want to share their experiences and knowledge with others.

Hello Yoooyoyo, do you actually have a bike yet, or are you looking for one? What kind of riding do you do?

Welcome to BF!

I just want to add that I ordered downtube Full Suspension 9 speed in orange color on November 23, 2007, after spending a week or so looking online. I am sure it will arrive tomorrow or some time soon. I will basically use it for my weekly grocery shopping, like 2 times a week. During hotter weather, I like to ride my bike along the beaches (Chicago beaches are well managed and clean, very beautiful). I travel to other places on plane like few times a year, and I want to take my bike with me. I just got tired of not being able to swirl around a new place and get acquainted with it faster. Downtube has good price, at least I could afford it as a college student, although it doesn't fold small. its the comfort and quality that persuaded me to purchase it. I hope in the future downtube can come up with something smaller in folded size, maybe less dissembling to fit it into a suitcase for airline travel. Brompton is really something, but since I will not be traveling that much, I prefer comfort with 20" wheels.

You should be able to have some good exchanges with the Folding Bike forum folks then...I have idly thought about getting a bike with couplers, but don't travel enough to make it really feasible. :) .
