Cycling In Salinas
So the story goes, life without a car what a way to be. Exciting as always and keeps you healthy. So I choose it and I have never looked back only moved forward. Glad to be a part of this group.

Hello knatchwa, I know you have been making your way around the board, because I've seen your posts . Don't forget to take a look at the regional forums, though.

knatchwa, I live on the northside near Kamman Elementary. I'm only riding a couple of days out of the week. Nice to know there are other Salinians on the board. I just wish I worked in town to be able to commute all the time!

That was my elementary school
I think I been in Salinas to long, went to kamann, then to washington middle and ended up at North Salinas High. It is always good to see more individuals who ride also.
Ride On...Educate and replicate lets make Salinas a more exciting place to cycle, the more who ride as a vehicle should, the more likely it is understood that the road is shared. Sorry to say there are still some in Salinas who think they own the road and the place for a bike is on the sidewalk. I would hope all here are aware how unsafe the sidewalk could be.
Thanks for the reply.

I work at Monterey Mushrooms in Royal Oaks. It's next to Royal Oaks Park. I recently took up my M1 license and I've been riding a motorcycle most of the time now. My Surly XCheck is getting surley with disuse.
And I'm getting rounder in finding excuses for riding the motorcycle.
Thanks for giving me the guilt-trip knatchwa!

I've thought about 183, but that's even worse. What with the wind knocking those trailers all over the road. If you have any suggestions, I'll keep my eyes open.
