Thanks for having me :-)
Hello all,
I have been a casual bike rider for a while, but this past summer, I rode my bike across the country and came to love it. I'm excited to talk bikes more often with knowledgeable people, as I go to school in up-state NY. It's not exactly prime-cycling season (we just got 16 inches of snow) so talking is pretty much all I can do.
Thanks!
David

Prime Season? I'll have you know I was out messing around in it last night. Offroad was better - side streets were nasty - could only get on the bike - ride a couple of feet till the 6" ruts in the road sucked me in. I luv people who push the snow into the street. Course the plows didn't exactly hit the city side streets real well ...
Congrats on the cross country. My brother did that a few years ago and totally enjoyed it. I have a long term goal of doing a trans-am within the next five years.
As you can tell I ride mtb - but also I do roadbike too - member of the Rochester Bicycling Club and can normally be found on Foo.
If ya have any questions or need any information for anything don't hesitate to PM me. And you do know about the Rochester Omnium (formerly Twilight Criterium) - this year the pro race is a 3 day event, 2010 we expect to go 5 days.

I was trying to meet up with the RBC, but Sundays just never worked out. The first weekend after having discovered them, I did the Highlander in Canandaigua with a buddy from my summer adventure. The falling weekend it rained, and then I started to get bogged down with school (such a nuisance :-P). My Saturdays are devoted to Habitat for Humanity, so I never did get to meet up with them. Hopefully in the Spring!

People usually ride cross-country after hanging ere for a while, not as often before. Welcome!

Ha, actually, my friend was over an hour late picking me up. So we did the mini-highlander... the metric century. Oh well. :-) 6,000 feet. We rode it all by ourselves; we started the ride quite chatty, it got very quiet as it went on.... and on.... and on.... lol.
