I hate to tell about the new bike because I bought from bikes direct and I know many on the forum dislike them. Actually my wife bought the Motobecane Vent Noir for me for christmas to upgrade me from a cheap walmart bike. The new bike came with Shimano 105 rear derailer, Tiagra front derailer, Shimano 9 Speed Cassette 12-25T (27 total gears), FSA crank, VP ultralite clipless pedals, Ritchey seat post, Ritchey ergo handle bars, Vuelta XRP PRO Aero wheels with bladed spokes(look sweet), Tektro BlackChrome DualPull Aluminum brakes, Shimano 4400 STI (Integrated Brake and Shift levers), Cane Creek Threadless Sealed Bearing headset, and Kinesis Carbon Fiber front fork. I am very happy with the bike and I actually went on my first ride with it today. It is 12lbs lighter than my old bike and seems very responsive. The shifters were smooth as silk and the brakes worked really good. I was able to learn about bike maintenance from my old bike since I was constantly workin on it so I decided the bikes direct route was for me since I could assemble and tune myself and I could get a bike with good components for a fraction of the price of what my LBS could get me.
So there you go. I guess the bashing is about to begin!
