Hello from ATW(Appleton, WI)

Greetings!

I think I've found a place with some great fellow riders. After searching the forums and reading a few intros it looks like a very friendly group. I feel right at home and I haven't even posted anything.

I have a Giant Cadex 980C and I hope to upgrade in the next year. I've only been riding about 2 years but immediately fell in love with it. I used to run a lot but being a 40 something, near clydesdale, my knees were telling me it was time to try something different. I'm glad I did. I got about 3000 miles in this year, ride solo most of the time and have ridden every month except Feb'07(too much snow) since April '06. I also love to climb hills but there aren't that many in NE WI. I think I'll be riding the rest of my life!

I guess that about sums up who I am......

Hi atwbiker, that's great that you've gotten in that kind of mileage, and that you're still getting out there even now in the winter. Kudos to you!

Don't be afraid to post, and if you'd just like to meet some of the members, you can always head down to Foo and break the ice there.

By the way, do you work at the airport?

Welcome to BF!

East Hill

Thanks East Hill. No I don't work at the airport but I frequently fly out of there. It was the only nickname I could come up with on the spot.

Welcome to the forums atwbiker! Appleton, now there's a place I had the chance to visit two summers ago. Had to do our final walk around on a new pumper Pierce was building for us. I remember thinking it would be great to have my bike along, and ride on somewhat flat roads for a change.

Enjoy,

Denny

I have to go to a nearby state park and ride the same 1 mi hill over and over just to get some hill work in. One of my favorite things to do when I travel is rent a bike and see the sites. I did that about 3 weeks ago in Scottsdale. It's a great workout and you see more of the area. If you're ever in town for another truck from Pierce (or any other reason for that matter) let me know and I can take you out on a couple flat routes.
