San Diego
Well, I'm from the outskirts of San Diego, 51 years old and only been biking for about 5 or 6 years. I started on a cheap mountain bike, then to a crossbike of sorts and finally to a touring frame with mountain bike components. I only ride on the road but love it. The only other person I ride with is my husband and then Sunday by myself. We have a lot of really nice areas in San Diego to ride, from the mountains to the ocean (if you don't mind the traffic). I have tried riding with other people but I guess I am just to slow, averaging 11 mph. If anyone gets out this way I'm sure you will love the fact that you can bike all year round, even in the rain (it's usually always warm). This looks like an interesting forum and I will be checking in often.

Welcome, San Diego!
We just had a wonderful discussion on how great that city was! So we're especially glad to see someone from a city that so many forum members think is a great place for cycling. If you ever get the chance, please post pics of your wonderful rides.
Next time I am in San Diego, I will bring my bike and we MUST ride the coast- I AB-so-lut-ely LOVE San Diego, and I really want to move there one day in the next few years (provided I don't end up in Italy....). I will drop you a PM next time I'm ready to head out there (early next year, most likely).
Welcome!

Welcome!
I am a San Diego native, but I unfortunately live in the LA area. Luckily, my parents still live in San Diego, and I get down about once every month. Of course, the bike comes with me.

Welcome Litespeed,
Enjoy that persistent San Diego sunshine for the rest of us. I’ve been down there once and was impressed with the biking.
