Hello Forum Members
Hello everyone,
My name is John Krantz and my wife and I live in a rural area about fifteen miles southwest of Des Moines Iowa. I do most of my riding on the many trails we have here. I've finally decided that it's time to move up from the department store torture device I've been riding and get a serious bike. I'm in the shopping around mode now and would appreciate any recomendations any of you may want to share. I'd like to stay in the $300.00 price range. Preferably a comfort or hybred bike. I've test ridden a few and couldn't believe the difference in the higher quality bikes.
I'm looking forward to the knowledge I'm sure I will gain on the forum and and thank you all for being here.

Welcome to the Forums John,
As for bikes you might want to check out trek, giant or specialized, as they have some decently priced comfort bikes. (which would probably suite you very well)
You also could check out GT, Schwinn, and iron horse. Although a bit lower end, they may fit into your budget.
