Newbie from the OC

So after years of trying to hit the gym and ride the stationary bike and do the occasional weight lifting, only to lose interest after a few months, I decided I needed to find something that would hold my attention and be healthy. So this weekend I test drove my mother in laws Trek bike and I was hooked. Saturday went out and bought a Trek 2.3 road bike and yesterday took it out for a 25 mile ride from Seal Beach, CA to Huntington Beach and back.

I have to say I am hooked. Riding is such a rush. The speed on a road bike is incredible. At one point yesterday I was pushing 25 mph and it was great feeling the wind blowing on my face. Not to mention the scenery at the beach is beautiful. I think I may have found my new love that combines being healthy and getting in shape with something truly fun and exhilarating to do.

I just wanted to say hello and how great it is to find this very informative forum.

Hello MT, sounds as if you are indeed well and truly hooked . Check out the SoCal regional forum--there are many members who share your joy down there in OC.

Welcome to BF!

Thanks for the welcome East Hill. Yeah the cycling bug bit me pretty hard this weekend. Thanks for the info about the regional info. I will definitely try to put it to some good use.
