Introduction from Sudevan

Hello,

I just joined BikeForums after having viewed multiple discussion threads in these forums on several topics of interest to me.

Briefly, I am a university professor ( cognitive psychology & neuroscience ) and bicycle rider. In the last year, I have been collecting bicycles, mostly vintage bikes, primarily Raleighs. I now have a total of seven, including a couple of work-a-day/runabout models. I have also recently been apprenticing myself to a friend who is skilled with bicycle mechanics and I'm happy to say that I built up my first frame last month - a Schwinn Prelude frame with fairly ordinary, mid-level components. I am now working on putting together a much nicer bike: a 1971 Raleigh International with Nervex lugs, using Campagnolo components -- not an exact restoration, but a close approximation. Quite simply, I love bicycles, and I suppose that is the reason I joined this forum. I hope to learn much from all of you.

Sincere regards,

Sudevan

Welcome Sudevan. As I'm sure you know already, the Classic and Vintage subforum seems to be made for you. Enjoy the Forums!

Hello Sudevan--I think you find yourself amongst like minded individuals in the Classic & Vintage forum. It sounds as if the knowledge will possibly flow both ways .

Welcome to BF!

Thanks for the warm welcome, East Hill and Juha. I have already been checking the postings in C&V, and they are very interesting and useful. I have some questions which I will post there in the coming days.

All the best,

Sudevan

Hello Sudevan,

Fellow Psych/Neuroscience Cyclist, just a little lower on the rungs....Undergrad student. I'm also a Cranky and Vintage bike nut!

I don't know if you are a big fellah, but you'd also be welcome to the Clydesdale/Athena subforum. We're a little community redefining our personal paradigm as to our capabilities

Thanks, Tom. I suppose we can talk both science and cycles. I'll check out the subforum you mention, but I am certainly not big -- I am 5'-8", and a medium build, which is average or a little less for this country. Now I would be a big chap in the highlands of Ecuador...
