Chris from nor cal

Hi im Chris.

Where are you from?
Im from Pleasanton Its in northern California about 45 min from Oakland. Ive lived here all my life.

What do you ride? I have a bmx bike terribleone barcode and im getting this really old road bike down fromt he attic at my grandpas it was my uncles when he was 13 and hes 49 now. i plan to retro fit it into a fixie

How long have you been riding? 15 years, i learned to ride when i was 4 and have loved anything with 2 wheels.

Anything else we should know about you? I am crippled from a bicycle accident. Its mainly my wrists. I had major reconstructive surgery. I shattered both wrists and tore all the tendons in both hands. now i have trouble gripping the handle bars durring jumps so im switching from bmx to fixies. i cant bend my wrists and it limits me from doing alot of things.

Hey Chris, Welcome to Bike Forums!!

I'm from the 925 as well, Contra Costa. We have a NorCal section that you can go check out as well as the fixie section. It's good to see that your wrist disability is not stopping you from riding. You keep on going with that, I'm rooting for you!

How did the accident happen?

Hi Chris, you sound like a tough character, and I'm also glad to hear that it is not keeping you from riding a bike, even if it's not a BMX bike.

Welcome to BF!

my accident was for a photo shoot. And i was doing a drop to a bank. I fell 20 ft and landed on my wrists when my back tire got hung up on a pipe that i didnt see.

Chris, have you tried any recumbent trikes? An under-the-seat steering model would have almost zero pressure on your wrists.

Ouchies, Chris.

That must have taken a long time to heal.

Chris, TerribleOne Barcode nice bike. Sorry to hear about your accident and I hope the rehabilitation will help you along the way. You will find me a lot in the bmx section. Yet I will like to see that bike tht you are inheriting in good use and even as a build up project. Again Welcome to the site and GodSpeed on your recovery.
