Hi everyone

I'm Pete and am the UK distributor for Heinzmann estelle electrobikes and the retrofit kits.
I've been riding bikes from age 10. Serious riding took off with a 1993 Kona Cinder Cone (Green/Grey) Joe Murray version. With the subsequent addition of Pace front shocks this saw a lot of riding on green (and brown) bits around London, mostly North Downs, South Downs, as well as Epping Forest. (Fond memories of chewing whatever the horses using the same track left behind - until I fitted the Crud Catcher). Great rides in the Brecon Beacons, Derbyshire Peaks, and Yorkshire Dales. Did one version of the coast to coast, St Bees to Robin Hoods Bay (not the Sustrans one - this one was a killer 215 miles of serious off road - all on legal bridleways). Took around six days with great mates. Don't think the guy who wrote the guide had ever got his panaracers dirty.

Later got volunteered for a 115km road race around Hamburg, Germany, and bought my Colnago for the job. All went well until 5k before the end and the guy in front stuck his front wheel into a railway track - you can guess the rest. I still finished but bear the scars many years on.

All but hung up my SPDs (actually Time ATAC on the MTB which are so much nicer) due to the arrival of two kids but still get out occasionally.

Got involved with electric bikes through working for Heinzmann on their industrial stuff. Soon found out they are one of the finest wheel hub motors available and decided to make a career of it and here I am.

Looking forward to listening in on some good debate and chipping in to the forum every now and again

Pete.

Welcome

Welcome Pete
You can have fun here without hitting railway tracks.
Get your camera ready, East Hill will ask you for pics of your bikes.

Hello Pete, one of these days I'm going to ride the Dales...you sound as if you can talk e-bikes with the best of them, so go talk some shop to the e-Bike forum folks.

Welcome, welcome!

Big fan of the Cinder Cones here. Friend of mine just purchased one that both of us were looking at on a used bike sheet ... and it is a sweet bike too now that I saw it in person, sigh AND rode it (yeah, he won the duel for the bike).

Sounds VERY nice to be able to make an Interest into a career. -- always told people that the best job in the world would be your hobby (course I have WAYYYYYY too many hobbies, hehe).
